How to Brew
There are a few ways to brew cacao, and typically it brews like coffee or tea. We have found that like tea, when allowed to steep for longer it brings out more flavor. Cacao is not as instant as coffee. Remember you can brew your grounds 2-3 times more depending on your liking to the strength of the brew.
The standard is 2 tbsp of Teo to every 8 oz of water (1c). For detailed instructions, see below:
French Press
STEP 1: Prepare hot water
STEP 2: Prepare Téo according to desired strength
- Normal: 2 tbsp of Téo for 8 oz of water
- Strong: 3+ tbsp of Téo for 8 oz of water
STEP 3: Put Téo & pour water into the french press & stir
STEP 4: Steep for around 10 min then press down the plunger all the way down (stir before pressing down)
STEP 5: Pour and Enjoy!!
OPTIONAL: Add creamer, sweetener, or enjoy it black!
Cold Brew - Prepare just like hot brew but brew with lukewarm water & choose your strength. Let it brew overnight (8+ hours)
Optional: Add honey, maple, or agave along with creamer of your choice as desired.
Tea Steeper
STEP 1: Prepare hot water
STEP 2: Prepare Téo according to desired strength
- Normal: 2 tbsp of Téo for 8 oz of water
- Strong: 3+ tbsp of Téo for 8 oz of water
STEP 3: Pour water slowly into the tea steeper

Tea Bag
Add Téo according to your desired strength to the tea bag.
Pour hot water in your mug and let steep for 5-10 min

Full Disclosure Everyone has different tastes. Some like it stronger and others lighter. Some like adding creamer and honey, others like it black. These are general directions. Experiment to your liking. Enjoy!
